Clearos 5.2 There Was An Error Configuring Your Network Interface
Welcome to ClearOS! One thing about ClearOS is that it can occasionally swap its network cards round so after installing a card a different one may become eth0. Any idea what to do? I will not stop untill i get it installed.

ClearOS 6.3 Set Root Password 10. The Setup loads fine. It is 2am where I am but i will go to my garadge to see if i got some abandoned NIC.
ClearOS 6.3 Installation Started 16. Beacuse at my place is no link status showen in webcoonfig and is connected. Have a look in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ for any file beginning something like "__tmp". Not having RAID, I don't pay much attention to the posts. I have searched for some time and have not come across anything helpful in the forums. ClearOS 6.3 Basic Storage Selection 6. Just in case you are causing the error yourself, can you try installing in stand-alone mode with a single network card?

I'm not sure how good it is with the Atheros cards so try the 3com card first.

Can you post the output of "lspci -v | grep Eth" and "grep eth /etc/modprobe.conf"? Which VPN server service are you talking about?

Open ClearOS Web Interface in a browser with root user and password for initial configuration. I suggest you add the HWADDR lines in the two ifcfg-ethx files you have and, for the moment set the immutable bit so they do not get deleted.

pdavis (P Davis) 2015-02-18 14:43:34 UTC #5 it ended up being a bad network cable. For the Atheros drivers you don't need to recompile the kernel. This does not work with some NICs... I plugged it back in and showed the same status, any thought of that?

You may want to look at this thread but I am sot sure it applies to you as your card identifies as an R8139D. I've tried installing ClearOS a couple of times and unfortunately have 2 NICs that aren't recognized out of the box.
