Also, the 256 char limitation could be that Db2 just looks at the first 256 chars, my path was 470 chars long, there was no way for me to reduce it I don't know how this impacts other apps tho.

So maybe you don't have them on your path or your machine doesn't have the client access libs installed or maybe your userid doesn't have the rights to access them. It may contain confidential or legally privileged information or both.
