The new system runs cups and I configured all the printers as raw devices that print to tcp ports as socket://ipadd:3005 Works like a wiz! I set LogLevel to "debug" but the only error appearing in the file "error_log" is: I [04/Feb/2008:12:32:23 +0100] [Job 35] Backend returned status 1 (failed) What does that mean? For example, the hpijs package must be installed for many HP InkJet, DeskJet and LaserJet printers to function properly.
That solved my problem.
