I would advise that you re-share the printer on the XP machine so that it doesn't have any spaces - so, for example, give it the sharename of HPDeskJet. It finds the printer fine and lists the URI as: gutenprint52usb://Canon/SELPHYCP400?serial=NONE_UNKNOWN&backend=canonselphy ...and then appears to find the drivers. So since I couldn't add a + in the menu, I subtracted it from the library name by making a copy of gutenprint52+usb without the plus sign # cd /usr/lib/cups/backend # Thank-you!

This would suggest that no queue name has been set, such as print or lp.

I remember your previous post but not the solution provided by Matt.I still think the error has something to do with the data being sent from your Mac but being rejected I've run disk and permissions repairs, and everything has been okay (except for the fact that I got ACL errors, which according to Apple, are fine and normal). To make matters worse my wife has a MacbookPro and she can print at home. What does an 'ü' mean?
