After reading this website i tried the twist method and found it worked!!!! If the picture is fine, then suspect the problem is with the LCD ribbon cable connection. so i just took everything apart layed it all out and when i finally came to the end with the lens i found that there is a white wheel that spins lens got stuck and wouldn't retract. this contact form

I don't know if it's because it's not the exact same camera or if it's because of it being broken. danp.,As the camera is relatively new, recommend contacting Canon and requesting warranty repair of the focus problem.

I have my camera back again!Thanks to this site. hi i have a powershot a85 and it stopped working (ie) will not turn on. The thing that worked for me is #7;; Forcing the lens in. Someone held my Fuji F30 by the lens whilst it was retracting.
When your insert an AV cable and turn on the camera, the LCD screen will stay off. I have a casio exz75. I bought my girlfriend a Casio Ex-Z1050 and unfortunately one of her young nieces turned it on when the battery was low. Turn off and restart the camera again.
Other variations include blowing with a hair dryer in "no heat" setting, or sucking the gaps with a vacuum (careful with this one).
