The best i would get was that the lens would retract but not completly then extend back out and stay out, displaying the e18. Works perfectly except when I switch to take a picture, it has a blank screen (lens extends normally etc.) but after 2 or 3 seconds, beeps a few times and closes January 6, 2008 at 9:10 AM Tony said... So I took a flat edged metal spatula and inserted it into the lens while I held down the power on button. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Banging my camera (gently or otherwise) did not seem to help. Blowing compressed air into the lens did the trick!
