Laden... For some reason though, my Exilim Z75 is doing something very strange. We tried them all and ended up taking a few screws out and then oiling around the lens with sewing machine or hair clipper oil. That must have reset the error status in the camera.

Yes I tried some light machine oil on my Coolpix L6, it didn't help. I know for a fact that the battery compartment was clean. You can also wiggle the lens barrels slightly to see if that will loosen the debris. I own many PowerShot's and I've had this issue on two of them now.

Good luck. Wish that I could give you some easy tips for fixing the error by opening the camera, but I'm afraid there is none. If the above fixes didn't work for you, then please read through the reader's comments, especially the newer ones.
